Temple is probably ignored by many tourists, because it's quite far from the heart of Singburi. However, the beauty inside the temple deserves exploration.

It was an abandoned temple, only the ruins were found. The temple was restored in 1972. And later in 1989, it was established as a temple, so Luang Pho Taweesak from Wat Phra Prang was invited as the abbot.

After LP Taweesak passed away, his followers agreed to preserve his body in a glass coffin. Therefore, his body is kept in a small building, decorated with naga statues. Inside is filled with offerings, that made of folded ribbons.

The ordination hall

Its highlight is the ordination hall, that looks strange and great from the outside. Details are as follows :

1.Four pointed arches are decorated with small Garuda statues. Garuda is considered as a symbol of holy creature, that protects the temple from evil spirits. Another myth protector is a big snake or naga, standing on both sides of the arch, while some of them are being eaten by Hera (creature).

2.The exterior wall surrounding the ordination hall is decorated with two flying elephants holding a dhamma wheel.

3.Big monk's fan that is called Talapat fan was made and placed on the wall. I bet you have never seen before. This is a strange idea that makes it look more attractive.

4.It features intricately decorated columns and gable roof.

Monk Biography

Luang Pho Taweesak was once stayed at Wat Phra Prang, and was a disciple of LP Sri and LP Thong. But after Wat Chonglom was established as a temple, LP Phae of Wat Pikunthong wanted him to be the abbot and had the ordination hall built. So he moved to Wat Chonglom.

Not long after he became abbot, some villagers went to meet LP Jarun of Wat Amphawan. The villagers asked LP Jarun to help the construction of the ordination hall.

But LP Jarun said "the great monk of the Noi River is already there, don't worry, it wouldn't take long for the construction". Later, everything LP Jarun said became true.

วัดช่องลม

วัดช่องลม เดิมเป็นวัดร้าง พบแต่ซากปรักหักพัง ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ.2515 ได้มีพระภิกษุมาบูรณะสถานที่แห่งนี้ จนกระทั่งใน พ.ศ.2532 จึงได้ถูกจัดตั้งเป็นวัด โดยทางวัดได้อาราธนาพระครูสังฆรักษ์ทวีศักดิ์ วรธมฺโม (พระครูวรธรรมศาสก์) จาก วัดพระปรางค์ มาปกครองวัด ซึ่งถือเป็นเจ้าอาวาสรูปแรกของวัด

อุโบสถ คือ สิ่งที่ทุกคนไม่ควรพลาดเพราะ ตกแต่งอย่างสวยงามและแปลกตามาก นอกจากอุโบสถแล้วที่นี่ยังมีศาลาแก้ว ภายในประดิษฐานพระพุทธชินราชจำลอง และพระพุทธรูปปางอื่นๆ อีก 4-5 รูป

ส่วนวิหารหลังเล็กๆ ที่ประดิษฐานร่างของพระครูวรธรรมศาสก์ ด้านนอกบริเวณประตูทางเข้าตกแต่งด้วยรูปปั้นพญานาค ส่วนภายในก็มีบายศรีและพญานาคที่ทำจากริบบิ้นสีชมพูขาว

ความโดดเด่นของอุโบสถ

1.บริเวณทางขึ้นอุโบสถทั้ง 4 ด้าน จะมีซุ้มประตูขนาดใหญ่ (ใหญ่มากๆ) ถูกประดับด้วยรูปปั้นพญาครุฑ

2.กำแพงด้านนอกที่ล้อมรอบอุโบสถ ได้ถูกตกแต่งด้วยช้างที่มีปีก 2 ตัว จับธรรมจักรไว้

3.ด้านบนกำแพงและแนวทางขึ้นบันได จะมีรูปปั้นพญานาคที่ถูกตัวเหรา (มกร) กินหาง และยังมีตาลปัตรขนาดมหึมา ซึ่งเราไม่เคยเห็นวัดไหนในประเทศไทย นำตาลปัตรมาประดับกำแพงอุโบสถ

4.เสาแต่ละต้นและหน้าบัน ถูกตกแต่งอย่างสวยงามมาก นอกจากนี้ใบเสมายังมีขนาดที่ใหญ่มากอีกด้วย

ประวัติพระครูวรธรรมศาสก์

คนทั่วไปมักเรียกท่านว่า หลวงพ่อทวีศักดิ์ แต่เดิมท่านจำพรรษาอยู่ที่วัดพระปรางค์ ซึ่งท่านได้รับการถ่ายทอดวิชามาจากหลวงปู่ศรีและหลวงพ่อทอง วัดพระปรางค์ เกจิดังแห่งสิงห์บุรี

ต่อมาเมื่อวัดช่องลมถูกจัดตั้งเป็นวัด พระสุเทพที่รักษาการเจ้าอาวาสได้ลาสิกขาบทไป ทำให้ตำแหน่งเจ้าอาวาสว่างลง หลวงพ่อแพ วัดพิกุลทอง จึงได้กล่าวว่า อยากให้หลวงพ่อทวีศักดิ์ไปปกครองวัดช่องลม และสร้างอุโบสถให้เสร็จ ดังนั้นหลวงพ่อทวีศักดิ์จึงมาปกครองที่วัดช่องลม

เมื่อท่านได้มาเป็นเจ้าอาวาส ได้มีชาวบ้านไปกราบขอความเมตตาให้ หลวงพ่อจรัญ วัดอัมพวัน ช่วยรับอุปการะในการสร้างอุโบสถของวัด หลวงพ่อจรัญได้บอกกับชาวบ้านว่า "เกจิแห่งลุ่มแม่น้ำน้อยอยู่ที่วัดแล้ว ไม่ต้องกลัว เดี๋ยวอุโบสถก็เสร็จ" ไม่นานนักอุโบสถก็ถูกสร้างเสร็จ และมีรูปแบบที่สวยงามมากจริงๆ

จากที่กล่าวมาข้างต้นจะเห็นได้ว่าท่านเป็นเกจิอีกรูปนึง ที่ได้รับความไว้วางใจจากพระผู้ใหญ่ อย่างเช่น หลวงพ่อแพ และหลวงพ่อจรัญ
